All Teen Volunteering and Community Service opportunities are available exclusively for Emma Clark Library Card Holders in Grades 7-12.

We have many Library Teen Volunteer Opportunities where you can earn Community Service Credit while assisting the Library. These opportunities take place year round!  There are opportunities to volunteer both onsite at the library, and offsite in the community.  To apply, please fill out the forms in the link above.

 

Teen Tech Tutors:

In the Tech Tutor program, teen volunteers will meet in the Tech Center to teach library patrons how to use their mobile devices and answer simple computer questions.  For information, click here: Teen Tech Tutors

“Think Like the Banned”

Read and respond to Children’s Picture Books that have been frequently challenged and/or banned in the United States.  Answer Critical Thinking Questions to analyze these titles and why they are particular targets for censorship.  CLICK HERE for further instructions.  (Earns 1 hour of credit per response, up to 12 hours of community service credit total per calendar year)

The Perspectives Project

Read and respond to books that portray different people, cultures, and sensibilities. Answer questions to reflect, explore, understand, and embrace different perspectives through the lens of fiction. CLICK HERE for further instructions.  (Earns 2 hours of credit per response, up to 24 hours of community service credit total per calendar year)

Teen Book Reviews 

Read and review books from the most recent lists (published by the Young Adult Library Services Association, aka YALSA) of extraordinary books for teens. CLICK HERE for further instructions.  (Earns 3 hours of credit per review, up to 36 hours of community service credit total per calendar year)

Teen Film Reviews

Watch and review films available on our free digital streaming service, Kanopy. CLICK HERE for further instructions.  (Earns 2 hours of credit per response, up to 24 hours of community service credit total per calendar year)
